Manage a lease workspace
Use the lease workspace to record the appointed agent's activity, prospective tenants and the owner-and-tenant lease deal.
Start the appointed work
- Open the lease from Leases as an owner or Work as the appointed agent.
- Select Workspace.
- Complete or review the inspection, agency agreement and project details.
- Record marketing activities and prospective tenants as the campaign develops.
Record a proposed tenant
Create a lease deal when there is a proposal to record. The deal remains proposed until an agreement date, completion date or discontinuation date is recorded. If the proposal does not proceed, record it as discontinued rather than deleting its history.
Put the lease on foot
Record the agreement date when the owner and tenant enter into the lease. This changes the deal to on foot and finishes the project workspace. The lease commencement date may be later than the agreement date.
Holding over remains on foot. It does not require a separate workspace state.
Record the end of the lease
After the workspace has finished, the actual tenant end date can still be added to the lease deal. Recording that date completes the deal and allows the property to become available for a new lease, subject to the current records.
If a new lease cannot be created
Check the latest lease deal. The property remains unavailable while the latest deal is proposed or on foot, even if the workspace has already finished.
