Terminate an agency appointment
Use the workspace termination process when an appointed agent's sale or lease agency agreement must end before the work is completed.
Before you start
Termination is different from cancelling a job. Cancel a job before appointment; terminate the agency agreement after a bid has been accepted and a project exists.
Recommend termination
A teammate who can participate in the job but does not have authority to terminate can select Recommend termination. Add a clear file note explaining the recommendation and submit it to the team authorities.
Terminate the appointment
- Open the sale or lease Workspace.
- Select Terminate agency.
- Review the warning and the effect on the active workspace.
- Record the termination date and complete the termination file note.
- Confirm Terminate agency agreement.
Only an owner with the required authority can terminate the appointment. Vendorable records the termination, notifies the relevant participants and makes the existing workspace inactive.
What happens next
The owner is given an opportunity to restart the sale or lease process and seek fresh proposals. The earlier job, accepted bid, agreement and workspace remain part of the property record.
If the action is unavailable
Check whether you are a team authority, whether the appointment is still active, and whether the project has already finished or been terminated. An ordinary team member should use the recommendation action.
